The Tyrrellspass St Patrick’s Day committee have announced that this year’s parade is on Sunday March 17 at 2pm.

Entertainment starts at 1.30pm, and the afternoon will include live entertainment, music, dancing and floats, plus a special surprise presented by St Anne’s National School, Tyrrellspass.

Entries for participation in the parade are now being accepted by the committee at a cost of €50 (business/commercial) or €25 (community), and prizes will be awarded to the best entries on the day. St patrick day Clover fish hook shirt.

The Tyrrellspass St Patrick’s Day Parade will also host a fundraising table quiz this Friday, February 15, at 9pm in Gonoud’s, Tyrrellspass. Table of four, €40.
Castlepollard
The theme for the St Patrick’s Day parade in Castlepollard is ‘Ireland’s Greener Future Environment’.
Committee member Donie Cassidy said this year’s parade, which will be the town’s 29th, will be “bigger and better than ever”.

“We’re starting at an earlier time of 4.30pm, we will have all the bands and floats in place that little bit earlier and we have a huge number of groups participating this year, so it should be bright and colourful,” Mr Cassidy told the Westmeath Examiner.
“Our theme is particularly aimed at our local schools who will all be taking part – it’s a good theme and it allows us to focus on the beautiful environment that we have surrounding Castlepollard.”

The fact that St Patrick’s Day falls on the bank holiday weekend will also be a boost to traders, he says.

“The weekend is ideal in that it really kick-starts our tourist season, so all our shop fronts will be decorated with the parade’s theme in mind, and it will hopefully generate a much needed boost to traders that weekend.”
