Although we're not sure we need a further reminder of our age in this way, the Rugrats reboot is moving full steam ahead – but don't worry, it's not in the direction you might think.

While we can't deny that the re-imagination of Chuckie currently doing the rounds online isn't utterly adorable, we can appreciate that it's just not the Chuckie we know and love.

Fortunately, one Twitter user has cleared up all the social media outrage, insisting that the new 'Chuckie' has "nothing to do with a Rugrats reboot" and revealing it's actually by 3D artist Guzz Soares, based on a concept drawing by fellow artist Gabriel Soares.
"Y'all gotta cool it. This Chuckie has nothing to do with a Rugrats reboot and y'all gotta quit taking artists' work and making collages for clout and drama," they wrote.

"Also there's nothing wrong with change. Cartoons aren't marketed towards us '90s kids' anymore. Grow up."
